Suggestion: instead of the Videos topics in the Elise Harris board in the General category, I would recommend there should be an Elise Harris category, which would have within it a Videos board with new videos each having their own topic, and the Video Index being its own separate board in the Elise Harris category.

Sorry I didn't see this and answer earlier. Rearranging could take place later when we have a crowd, but for now I want to keep the video index right in user's faces. Your suggestion I see as a way of spreading posts out over the forum-scape, but with not many posts about, that would dilute things and I want to concentrate them until membership grows. That may take some time the way things are going.
General is the default category when a forum is created, and I have left it that way to hold everything but technical. There are of course many ways to skin a c... uh, to do things.

How about making two separate boards in the General category, the top one just about Elise's videos, with the video index as a sticky top thread, and a separate board for other general discussions concerning Elise but not directly related to specific videos?

I'll tell you why not. I have participated in several Websites over the years whose "star" produced periodic videos just like Elise. Whenever the video came out, everyone would congregate below the videos much like they do in the comments of a YT video. When a new video came out, we would move there and the old video no longer gathered flies, so to speak. That was just the way it worked, it was successful, and so that is what I am trying to emulate here. I believe the video and the encapsulating topic complement each other, so I don't want to separate them for fear of them both languishing.
It is a very hard thing to get this snowball rolling. Elise has kindly taken my suggestion that she show up regularly and often and a lot and without fail. Without her presence, I believe there would not be a damp spot left, much less a handful of melting snow. So I am skittish about changing things without being able to predict what would happen afterwords and would like to stick with the "grand design" until we get, oh, say, 4,000,000 participants, which should be any day now.
Wouldn't it be great to get several hundred complaints asking, "Everything was just fine with our forum. Why are you tinkering with it? Just who do you think you are, Mr. Smartypants?" Yass, that would be great.

Snowballs aren't the only things that roll
