Elise beats a beet into submission and is pleased with the result:

Beets and lemon both have lots of vitamin C, so it's good for you. You should give the cat as much borscht as he wants! Because cats need vitamin C too, and I love cats.

I think you need to adopt the cat and name him Borscht. And give him borscht and lots of love. Two drifters, off to see the world.

I'd just like to point out that from 5:06 to the end of the Breakfast At Tiffany's video above it appears that the same person on the sidewalk walks by from right to left 3 or 4 times, with or without the briefcase, but dressed the same and with the same umbrella each time. Meow.

Does the same extra get paid for each traverse of the seen? Probably not.
Notice how Hepburn emotes like crazy, whereas Peppard just stands there frozen. How could they miss that in the cutting room?
At 4:05, the cat is thinking, "They're practically squashing me to death. I hope I at least get the residuals from TV some day."

I thought the way he just stood there looking at her, with the rain pouring over him, was probably his best scene in the movie.
If you watch the whole video from the beginning, the contrast between the two characters' emotional reactions in the end was intentional. It wasn't about a couple finding their cat and one expressing more concern than the other. She was distraught about having tossed the cat away, and he's watching her retrieve the cat and knows it means she's changed her mind about what she said about not wanting to be loved.
He hadn't been able to find the cat, because it wasn't his cat, but when she came calling the cat, the cat responded. Because he belonged to her. And she knew then that she belonged to the cat too. It was only after she realized that she needs the cat, that she realized she needs to belong to the man too, that they were able to kiss.
The cat did a great job in this movie in all his scenes.

Yeah, the cat missed getting an Oscar by a whisker.

Or the cat could have been named Oscar
